NIZUC lets the whole family “get away from it all.”

Now, the spirit of the Maya can touch the experience of the whole family at Nizuc Resort and Spa. The new Winik’s Kids Club program lets children at Nizuc explore their boundless curiosity and creativity, drawing from the extraordinary natural surroundings and native influences surrounding them. It also lets parents relax, knowing the needs of every family member are thoughtfully attended to at Nizuc.

“Winik” is itself a Mayan term, with meanings that include “person,” “people” and “children.” Winik’s Kids Club was created for the fun, wonder and self-expression of children with a native spirit, and gives children “their own world” at Nizuc, with different daily themes and activities tailored to their age group.

The Kids Clubs are divided into age groups from four months up to 12 years old, each given its own special “base” at the resort, with most bases containing their own swimming pool and shade sail for sun protection. Winik’s aims to offer children an inspirational and educational daily schedule of activities, attuned to nature, in a fun and safe environment.

Theme days include “I Am an Artist,” water splashes, cultural days, “Fun With Nature,” sports day, and “Nizuc Warriors Adventure and Champions Day.” Depending on age, activities within the Kids Clubs range from the trapeze, yoga, stretching and sports, to dancing, pool games and a kid’s fashion show. Nizuc knows parents may want to be a part of their kid’s activities, so Winik’s Kids Club now also incorporates family time and family-oriented events such as dance classes, family treasure hunts, as well as Master Chef– and Amazing Race-themed challenges.

Winik’s Kids Club is yet another way Nizuc lets the whole family “get away from it all.”

INDOCHINE Restaurant

Guests face the East in a number of ways at Indochine Restaurant, located within NIZUC Resort & Spa Hotel. Indochine welcomes its guests with a terrace that overlooks the Ocean, where warm sunsets near mangroves and the sea cue the senses toward Asia and the culinary touch of Chef Alicia Padilla.

Young, talented and passionate about spices, ancient and traditional flavors, Padilla has created a new menu with dishes that are a veritable tour of the Orient, combining Thai, Indian, Chinese, and Japanese influences.

As guests bask in dark-toned décor, a meal might commence with a light and aromatic starter like the Salmon Sashimi with Coconut Infusion, or a Ramen Soup with Angus Prime. Entrees might feature Chef Alicia’s passion for curry, such as a traditional Thai Massaman Lamb or Tikka Masala Lobster. Alternatively, they might feature unique Indochine Fusion recipes that group the flavors of India, China and Japan in a single dish. A repast may conclude with a sampling of the most select desserts in Asia, such as Mango Lassi Mushroom Soup, a classic reinvented by Chef Pastelero Nicolás Oviedo with the suggestions of Chef Alicia.

Chef Alicia brings guests the best of her constant search of the most representative flavors and seasonal specialities of the Asian continent. It’s one more way NIZUC puts guests at the crossroads of the best the world has to offer.

Chef’s Table of NIZUC Resort & Spa

NIZUC is where currents converge. Sea currents that carry pristine Pacific waters to your door. Wind currents that cool your skin. And Chef’s Table culinary currents that meld the best of classical French tradition with the freshest of local ingredients.

Sylvain Desbois, the Chef of NIZUC Resort & Spa, hails from French Brittany, a region where a maritime climate meets agricultural bounty. Desbois trained at France’s Université de Sainte-Anne, then made a mark bringing French cuisine to Mexico. Today, he’s one of only eight chefs in Mexico that are part of the prestigious academy Maitre Cuisiniers de France.

Sylvain’s creative approach at NIZUC brings together all his influences, with distinctive combinations of ingredients in a solid base of traditional French cuisine. The results will surprise and delight you.

His signature creation at NIZUC is the Chef’s Table, an unforgettable dining experience personalized for each guest party, based upon their tastes, preferences or restrictions. Chef’s Table parties of up to eight are served in a private area of the Ramona Restaurant, with wines carefully chosen by Sommelier Joaquín Torres to match the dishes created by Chef Sylvain.

Chef’s Table is yet another way that NIZUC puts guests at the crossroads of the best the world has to offer. (Chef’s Table reservations require 24 hours advance notice, for a time between 6:30 and 9:30 pm, Monday to Saturday.)
