NIZUC Resort & Spa’s Signature Restaurant, Ramona, Honored with The “Cesar Balsa” Excellence Award 2024.

We are delighted to announce that Ramona, our esteemed signature restaurant at NIZUC Resort & Spa, has been awarded the prestigious “Cesar Balsa” Excellence Award for Best Hotel Restaurant in Mexico 2024 by CANIRAC. This accolade recognizes Ramona’s exceptional contribution to the culinary arts and underscores its role in elevating Mexico’s gastronomic landscape through creativity, service, and excellence.

For over three decades, CANIRAC has presented this esteemed award to celebrate and honor establishments that significantly impact the culinary industry. Ramona, named after the wife of NIZUC’s founder, pays homage to Mexican culinary traditions with a serene and elegant ambiance. The restaurant’s design features natural stone pavements, a historic Michoacán entrance from the XVII century, and a breathtaking view of the sea. Its interior is adorned with chandeliers, a vaulted ceiling, a wine cellar, and a replica of an Augustinian Malinalco Monastery mural from the XVI century, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Chef Irving Cupul, inspired by his deep connection to Mexican cuisine and his extensive travels across the country, crafts a menu that celebrates both traditional and contemporary Mexican flavors. Utilizing the freshest seasonal ingredients, artisanal produce, homegrown herbs, and sustainable seafood, Chef Cupul’s dishes offer a sensory journey through Mexico’s rich culinary heritage.

We invite you to join us at Ramona to experience the award-winning essence of our Mexican cuisine. Delight in each dish’s vibrant flavors and aromas and savor a truly memorable dining experience.

NIZUC Resort & Spa Enhances Kosher Dining Experience

NIZUC Resort & Spa now features specialized and independent Kosher kitchens. While we have offered Kosher meals since the resort’s opening, our new kitchens allow us to offer an enhanced selection of Kosher cuisine prepared under the highest standards of supervision by Rabbi Berel Simpser and a Mashgiach from the Jewish Community in Cancun.

NIZUC Resort & Spa holds IKM (International Kosher Mehadrin) certification and collaborates with regional certified suppliers to provide a variety of Kosher foods for lunch or dinner, including an array of fresh fish, pasta, pizzas, and salads. For breakfast, we can also prepare any type of omelet with vegetables and Kosher cheese, as well as waffles, hotcakes, and Challah French toast. All dairy served is D Cholov Yisroel, all meat is provided by KMD Kosher Magén David, and many other foods offered at NIZUC are Kurson Kosher certified.

All food is prepared at NIZUC’s dedicated kitchens using separate cookware for meat, dairy or parve, and all meals are served in dedicated glass tableware with cutlery.
