Introducing Alfonso Martínez as NIZUC Resort & Spa’s New General Manager

Mr. Alfonso Martínez is excited to embark on a new journey with NIZUC Resort & Spa, continuing his notable career working worldwide with leading hospitality brands.

With an impressive vision in place for the future, Mr. Martínez is thrilled to spearhead leadership of NIZUC Resort & Spa with a focus on the attention to detail and flexibility that today’s luxury travelers’ desire. He believes that NIZUC’s team is the hotel’s most vital asset. He will continue encouraging collaboration to ensure strong training, motivation for success, and dedication to providing the best experience for our guests.

Born and raised in Mexico, between Acapulco, Mexico City, and Estado de México, Mr. Martínez is the son of a prominent hotelier, from whom he inherited the passion for hospitality. In his early years, Mr. Alfonso Martínez and his family lived in the hotels where his father was a manager. This upbringing sparked his curiosity about hotel operations and led him on a hospitality path in the future. 

After completing a degree with honors in Hotel Management from the Universidad Anahuac, one of the best universities in the country, Mr. Alfonso Martínez transitioned from roles in hotel security, front desk management, reservations, and then room’s division management at Camino Real Polanco. In 2005, he was promoted to his first general manager position at Camino Real Perinorte and was shortly promoted to managing director the following year. In 2013, he moved to work with Intercontinental Hotels in Central America as managing director for Intercontinental Tegucigalpa, San Salvador, and Guatemala. Starting in 2019, he was the director for Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende, one of the most luxurious and exclusive hotels in the Grupo Posadas portfolio. These past experiences gave Mr. Martínez a strong foundation and understanding for delivering the experiences to clients, guests, and collaborators.

I have deep gratitude to those who believed in me and the love of my family and colleagues who always supported me throughout my professional and personal career,” states Alfonso Martínez.

Meet Dr. Phi Nguyen Our NIZUC Medspa Expert

NIZUC Resort & Spa is pleased to announce our partnership with MIA Beauté founder and physician Dr. Phi P. Nguyen.

Dr. Phi has over 25 years of medical experience in cosmetic plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments including facial rejuvenation surgery, rhinoplasty, labiaplasty, and vaginoplasty. Dr. Phi’s use of modern technology, attention to detail, and passion for achieving the aesthetic goals of his patients is what sets him apart from other plastic surgeons.

After graduating from Rice University in Texas with a Bachelor of Arts, Dr. Phi attended medical school at the University of Texas at Houston’s Medical Center where he would later graduate with his Doctorate of Medicine. Later that year, Dr. Phi began his residency in general surgery at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, TX where he also completed his residency in plastic surgery. He continues to further his knowledge in the field by closely monitoring and studying new plastic surgery techniques and surgical technologies. By valuing and understanding state-of-the-art technology, Dr. Phi can produce high-quality results through reduced invasion techniques. 

We spoke with Dr. Phi to gain his perspective on the new MedSpa treatments offered here at NIZUC Resort & Spa. 

What was the inspiration for adding MedSpa to NIZUC’s treatments? 

Our inspiration for MedSpa was to introduce the latest aesthetic technology to an already world-class Spa. With MedSpa treatments we can meet our clients’ aesthetic goals in a safe and relaxing environment, taking the spa experience to the next level. Aesthetic procedures that used to be offered only in a doctor’s office can now be offerred safely here at NIZUC. The MedSpa staff are all highly trained by medical professionals in the aesthetic field to deliver the highest quality care and results. Our clients can be pampered while also increasing muscle tone, reducing fat and cellulite, and tightening the skin. This combination has never been previously available in a world-class spa environment in Mexico. We are thrilled to be the first to introduce these innovative MedSpa services to our wonderful clients.
