We all know and love the classics—but Celebrating Cinco de Mayo in Mexico, you shall try something different. At NIZUC, we have several signature cocktails, created by our incredible resort mixologists and here, it’s always cocktail hour.
Every cocktail is made with fresh ingredients and the best liquors, with a particular focus on quality mezcal and tequila. We’ll let you here some little secrets of our special ingredients like the hibiscus syrup or delicious & little spicy habanero or the Serrano and ginger syrup. We include this type of chilis which are native to the Yucatan Peninsula & central Mexico to add an extra bit of spice that makes all the difference.
So bring cocktails and the gorgeous ocean from Bar A’Kan to your home and enjoy this signature cocktail recipes:
IK MARGARITA
2 oz. of Silver Tequila Centenario
1 oz. Of Habanero-infused simple syrup*
1 oz. fresh lime juice
¾ oz. triple sec
Chili powder and salt for rim
Procedure:
*To prepare Habanero Chili syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 Habanero chile, helved
Combine the water and the sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
Add the habanero chili and continue to heat, bringing the syrup to a light boil. Cover, reduce heat, and allow to simmer for about 15 minutes
Remove from the heat and allow to cool and steep in the covered pan for about 1 hour or until it reaches your preferred taste.
Strain out the habanero and bottle under a tight seal. Store in the refrigerator, it should keep for about two weeks
For your cocktail:
Rim your favorite glass with chili powder and salt and set aside.
Pour the Tequila, lime juice, habanero syrup and triple sec into a cocktail shaker and add a handful of ice cubes.
Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Create your own rhythm, feel free to dance and have fun!
Assembly:
Strain the preparation into the rimmed glass full of ice and add a lime wedge with a slice of habanero as a garnish.
Now you are ready to treat yourself to a refreshing cocktail!
NIZUC MARGARITA
Ingredients:
2 oz. of Silver Tequila Centenario,
1/2 oz. orange liquor or controy
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. Natural honey bee
1 bunch of dill
1 sliced green cucumber
Chili powder and salt for rim
Ice
Procedure:
Rim your favorite glass with chili powder and salt and set aside.
Place into a shaker some cucumber slices and dill branches, mash them well with a muddler or a wooden spoon.
Add the fresh lime juice, honey bee, orange liquor and the tequila- Mix well all the ingredients with a spoon. Then add a handful of ice cubes and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
You can also do this NIZUC Margarita frozen version, by adding all ingredients on a blender with handful of ice.
Assembly:
Strain the preparation into the rimmed glass full of ice and add 3 cucumber slices with a branch of dill as a garnish.
Now you are ready to celebrate your cocktail hour at home!!
